Chief Executive Officer
Gerard (Jerry) Klein serves as CEO at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. Jerry started his employment with Memorial Hospital in January 2011. He was born and raised in Nebraska and lived there for 38 years. Jerry began his career in healthcare in 1971 as a Medical Technologist and worked in urban hospitals until 1987 when he transitioned into his first CEO role in a rural network hospital associated with Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He subsequently worked for University Hospitals of Cleveland and The Ohio State University Medical Center and managed hospitals in their regional networks.
Jerry has a Bachelors of Science degree from John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, NE and a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology from The University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Later in his career he earned a Masters of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL.
Jerry enjoys golfing, hunting and fishing, gardening, reading and collectibles. Jerry remains a staunch Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan.
